Mrs. Leana Dwyre-Marques
Greetings. My name is Leana Dwyre. This is my 16th year in education. Currently, I am the Assistant Principal at Purple Sage Elementary and Heights Elementary. I am originally from Northern California. Several years ago, I relocated back to the United States after living in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, for five years. I taught and worked in administration at an international school in Rio. Teaching in a foreign country has changed my perspective on education, and I will be forever grateful for the wealth of educational resources we have at our fingertips in the United States.
I knew I wanted to be a teacher ever since I was a young girl and would force my younger brothers to play school with me. I received my teaching credential from Hope International University in Southern California in 2001. I returned to school in 2009 to achieve my masters in Educational Leadership from California State University East Bay.
After living in large cities my entire life, I am thoroughly enjoying all that Idaho has to offer. I love the slower pace of life (less traffic), peacefulness, serenity and beauty here. I enjoy being outdoors in the summer and cozying up near a warm fire with a good book in the winter. Footloose (the original) is my favorite movie. Chips and homemade salsa washed down with an ice-cold diet coke is my favorite meal.
